First World War – enlistment and action – Brian Tackaberry
On November 19, 2016, and in keeping with Remembrance Day, Brian Tackaberry (North Lanark Historical Society) will talk about the First World War – about enlistment and those who enlisted, about the different battalions and battles in which they fought and about life on the home front – relating to the former Goulbourn Township.
Brian has a great deal of knowledge about the War and has written a new book – “Forgotten Heroes of Mississippi Mills”. detailing experiences of World War 1 heroes. This book will be available for purchase.
Please join us at the Stittsville Legion (which is handicapped accessible to the left of the front door).The program starts at 1:30 pm and is free, as are parking and refreshments. Remember, tell a neighbour, bring a friend as well as share your own stories and memorabilia from World War 1.
