The Great Bank Robbery in Richmond

Mr. Curry took us back to a hot day in July 1938 when three masked menrobber robbed the Bank of Nova Scotia in Richmond. The robbery was talked about in Richmond for decades. Mr. Curry along with videographer Sandy Durocher captured the gripping story of the robbers, their escape and capture and incarceration through a video re-enactment of the events performed by drama students from Sacred Heart High School, Stittsville. The robbery was widely reported and it took over five year to catch the last gang member.
The presentation was held Saturday April 18th, 2015 at the Ottawa Public Library – Stittsville Branch staring at 1:30PM. As usual, admission and parking were free as were the refreshments.

The Bank of Nova Scotia robbed July 28th 1938.
